Spring Newsletter 2025

Appointment Changes

We have listened to your feedback and understand that many patients wish it was easier to see a Doctor face to face. Therefore we are changing the way our triage works from May to better accommodate patients needs.

Our GPs have a set number of face to face appointments that our Receptionists can book into, these are a combination of pre-bookable and on the day. There are still telephone consultations available where the GP will ring throughout the course of the day.

Our Receptionists have a set list from the GPs on what is suitable for a telephone call or face to face, so they will be able to advise which is suitable for your type of request.

We are keen to hear your feedback on how this works for you.

Greener Primary Care

We understand that climate change is having an increasing impact on our daily lives and feel we should be doing all we can to minimise this. That’s why we have signed up to the Greener Primary Care toolkit, if you have any suggestions on how we can help the environment please let us know.

NHS Wales App

My Health Online was decommissioned at the end of March 2025. For all patients ordering medication for themselves, we encourage you to sign up for the NHS Wales App as you will be able to continue to order medication this way. For those wanting to order medication on behalf of someone they care for, this is currently something that the NHS Wales App are still working on and we will update our patients once this is possible.

Patient Pod

For those that haven’t already heard, patients are able to use our health monitor at any time during our opening hours. The machine takes your details, will ask questions relating to your lifestyle habits and then record your height, weight, pulse and blood pressure.

This information is then reviewed by our team and added to your electronic record. We will then contact you if any concerns are raised from the readings so you do not need to contact us. Please note for the height to be accurate patients do need to be able to stand straight unaided.

The machine will only provide accurate recordings if used correctly, please ask a member of staff if you are unsure and they will be happy to help.

Fit Jacks

Community Fit Jacks launched earlier this year but it is not too late to get involved. There are a range of dates and locations around Swansea to get signed up.

Fit Jacks is a free 12-week health and wellbeing programme which combines information about healthier choices with free weekly fitness sessions which cater to your fitness levels.

You can find more information online here.

Review

All staff across the surgery work extremely hard to help you. If you have had a positive experience, then please leave us a review on Facebook or google. You can scan the barcode below to take you straight there. We do also have a suggestions box in the waiting area where patients can leave anonymous feedback or suggestions on improvements for the surgery.

Healthy Habits

We know that addictions are extremely difficult to get on top of, but as a surgery we want to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Please follow the links if you would like any help with reducing your smoking or alcohol intake.
